Dale Putnam and His Voyages
on The Sea Raven

After he retired from Boeing, my father and his wife, Lois, spent over 10 years exploring the west coast waters, from Alaska to Panama and beyond. In 1997 they sold The Sea Raven and settled on a hilltop overlooking the straight near Friday Harbor, Washington.
Dad died in September of that year, and we sprinkled his ashes in the waters that he loved. Before he died he enjoyed working on the computer and built a web page that includes all their voyages and many photographs.

This is his web site

Voyages of the SEA RAVEN

1997

Perched atop a moss covered rock on our San Juan Island hilltop overlooking dozens of smaller islands dotting the waterways between our home and British Columbia's Saturna Island to the north, the Raven's Nest shares the view with eagles, ospreys, and turkey vultures. Deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, and occasionally a black silver-tip fox roam our "yard". It's quite a change from the years we spent living on our boat while cruising from Alaska to the Caribbean. The Sea Raven has now been sold but that doesn't mean that we are going to spend all our time in our hilltop nest. In May we drove to Utah where we ran shuttle for a family float trip through Desolation Canyon on the Green River. Then on the 13th of June we headed north to Alaska. We just got back from that trip. See the report under "Voyages".
